By engaging Smallbean Studio ("we", "us", "our") for any web design or development service, you ("the client") agree to the following terms and conditions in full.
Smallbean Studio provides web design, web development, hosting, maintenance, and related digital services to clients across South Africa and internationally. All services are rendered remotely unless otherwise agreed in writing.
A 50% non-refundable deposit is required before any design or development work commences. The remaining 50% is due upon project completion, prior to the website going live. We reserve the right to withhold delivery until full payment is received.
Hosting and maintenance fees are billed monthly (R150/month) and are due on the first of each month. Non-payment for two consecutive months may result in suspension of services.
Each package includes a defined number of revision rounds (as stated in your package). Revisions are changes within the agreed scope of work. Requests that constitute new features or significant scope changes may be subject to additional charges, which will be communicated and agreed upon before work begins.
Upon receipt of full and final payment, all rights to the completed website design and code are transferred to the client. Smallbean Studio retains the right to display the completed project in its portfolio and marketing materials unless explicitly requested otherwise in writing.
Estimated timelines are provided in good faith but are not guaranteed. Delays caused by the client's failure to provide content, feedback, or payment may extend the timeline accordingly. We are not liable for delays caused by third-party services such as hosting providers or domain registrars.
Smallbean Studio's total liability for any claim related to our services shall not exceed the total fees paid for the project in question. We are not liable for indirect, consequential, or incidental damages including loss of business, revenue, or data.
These terms are governed by the laws of the Republic of South Africa. Any disputes shall be resolved in accordance with South African law.
Smallbean Studio respects your privacy and is committed to protecting your personal information in accordance with the Protection of Personal Information Act (POPIA), 2013.
We do not sell, rent, or trade your personal information to any third parties. Information may be shared only with service providers directly involved in delivering your project (e.g. hosting providers), and only to the extent necessary.
We retain client records for a period of 5 years in compliance with South African tax and business regulations. You may request deletion of your data at any time by contacting us at info@smallbean.co.za, subject to any legal obligations we may have to retain certain records.
You have the right to access, correct, or request deletion of your personal information at any time. Contact us at info@smallbean.co.za to exercise these rights.

We want every client to be completely satisfied with their website. We have structured our process to include multiple revision rounds to ensure this outcome. Please read this policy carefully.
The initial 50% deposit is non-refundable once work has commenced. This covers the time invested in discovery, planning, and initial design work. If you cancel before any work has started, the deposit may be partially or fully refunded at our discretion.
If you cancel after work has begun, you forfeit the deposit and any additional payments made to date. Deliverables completed up to the point of cancellation may be provided at our discretion, provided all outstanding balances are settled.
The final 50% payment is due upon completion of the website and is non-refundable once the site has been launched and delivered. If the final deliverable does not match the agreed scope of work, we will work to resolve this through revisions at no extra charge.
Monthly hosting and maintenance fees paid are non-refundable. You may cancel the hosting plan at any time by giving 30 days written notice. Your website will remain live until the end of the current billing period.
If you are dissatisfied with any aspect of our service, please contact us at info@smallbean.co.za before requesting a refund or initiating a dispute. We are committed to fair resolution and will always attempt to address concerns first through communication and additional revisions.
This Service Agreement ("Agreement") outlines the working relationship between Smallbean Studio and its clients for web design and development projects.
The specific scope of work (pages, features, integrations) will be agreed upon in writing via email or WhatsApp prior to the commencement of any project. Any additions to the agreed scope will be treated as separate work and quoted accordingly.
Our primary channels of communication are WhatsApp (+27 76 876 7376) and email (info@smallbean.co.za). Clients are expected to respond to communications within 5 business days. Extended delays may result in project rescheduling.
All designs, code, and assets produced during the project remain the property of Smallbean Studio until final payment is received. Upon payment in full, ownership transfers completely to the client.
Some projects may require third-party services such as domain registration, email hosting, payment gateways, or stock photography. These are separate costs billed directly by the respective providers. We will advise you of any such requirements in advance.
Both parties agree to keep all project-related information confidential. Smallbean Studio will not disclose your business information to any third party without your explicit consent, except as required by law.
Any amendments to this agreement must be agreed upon in writing by both parties. Verbal agreements are not binding.
